Community Partners

The team at Earthwise strives to be responsible, contributing members of our community. We are committed to working with our partners to reduce waste while preserving architectural heritage and reclaiming materials that would otherwise be thrown into the landfill.

When you choose to donate materials through Earthwise, you’re helping fund local preservation and restoration efforts throughout our region. When you elect to receive a tax donation receipt for your salvaged materials, just let one of our salvage specialists know. Once approved, Earthwise will salvage reusable materials from your project. The items are then sold in our store benefiting you, our community, and the selected non-profit organization of your choice.

Have a project coming up? Contact your nearest Earthwise location and we can step you through the process, and find the best way to meet your needs and expectations, while also reusing materials in our community.

Non-Profit Organizations

Historic Seattle: Educate, Advocate, and Preserve

Historic Seattle believes that buildings provide an essential link to the past, reminding us of who we are and where we came from. Founded in 1974, Historic Seattle is the only non-profit membership organization dedicated to preserving Seattle and King County’s architectural legacy. Our mission is to educate, advocate and preserve. As both a public development authority and charitable foundation, Historic Seattle is a major advocate for, and participant in, the thoughtful and meaningful preservation and rehabilitation of historic buildings. We have helped protect and preserve dozens of irreplaceable buildings. We own and manage two major historic buildings which house rich public programming and events: the Good Shepherd Center in Wallingford, and Washington Hall in the Central District. We also advocate for preservation by urging policy makers, developers and citizens to consider the value of historic buildings. Finally, Historic Seattle offers a year-round program of educational lectures and tours to increase public awareness of our vibrant architectural heritage.

Historic Tacoma: Preserving Our Architectural Heritage

Historic Tacoma’s mission is to “promote, conserve and enhance Tacoma’s architectural character.” We use three strategies to accomplish that mission: education, advocacy and preservation.

Historic Tacoma provides walking tours, a guide to historic preservation and more on their website.

New World Villages

The mission of New World Villages is to work to increase the health, educational level, and human dignity of impoverished people living in the Americas. We accomplish our mission by enhancing health and nutrition programs for the poor in the countries we serve. We also strive to improve the quality of education and increase the number of students attending and completing both primary and secondary schooling. This is accomplished through teacher training, enhancement of school infrastructure, expansion of the availability of information technology, and involvement of the community.

In addition to these non-profit organizations, we have worked with:
