Just this past Sunday, our own Aaron Blanchard was featured in a Seattle Times article all about the increasingly popular trend of custom furniture making and upcylcing. You can read the article here, pay-walled for subscribers, but non-subscribers get a few free articles per month. Here’s a passage:

Seattle Times, August 3, 2025
“If you don’t have the tools, borrow them from a tool library or your neighbors, he says. “If you don’t know what to do, there’s a lot of great info on YouTube.”
For additional guidance, Blanchard suggests visiting salvage stores like Earthwise.
“Ask the floor staff,” he says. “Nobody’s in salvage for the money. They do it because they’re into it, and they’re usually happy to help.”
His final piece of advice?
“Wood glue is your best friend.”
