From what we have found briefly sleuthing around on the internet, the Richmond Piano Company was founded in 1878 in Richmond, Indiana and ceased production right after the war ended in 1949.
From the service records we found, this piano has been in the greater Seattle area since at least 1967.
However, the oldest date we were able to locate on this piano was from 9-16-1920 penciled on the inside which makes us believe this piano is at least 100 years old.
The serial number is 114479.
Overall, this piano is in good condition.
It has been well loved, and has the scars to prove it, but it has been taken care of over the years.
Many of the ivory keys have popped off, and there are no shortage of spots where the finish has worn through to bare wood from overly enthusiastic playing.
It has a great tone, and is in tune, but a fresh servicing may be recommended.
It is one of the best playing pianos we have seen come through the shop and we as a store are excited to see who gets to take it home with them.
