This very cool bed features exquisite craftsmanship--from all the ornate hand carved details, to the dynamic wood inlay, and the fact that this whole bed is held together with mortise and tenon joinery.
Constructed from solid hardwood, this is the epitome of "they don't make 'em like they used to." Three slabs of what appear to be rosewood create the slats on the base frame. The base frame is incredibly sturdy, but comes apart into two pieces. The front of one frame piece has an incredibly decorative wood inlay design with what looks like a few different techniques.
Two custom straw mats provide some cushion to the hardwood. Two almost mirrored sides with design elements too numerous to call out each one here are supported and completed with a back piece containing unique carved figures and a partially pivoting mirror in its center.
Braced between the two sides is a large bank of miniature cabinets. Some have drawers. Some ornate, gilded lattice doors. All are expertly carved and fully functional.
