Antique bronze mooring bitt/Samson post 7.25 x 6.5

Very old anchor tie off, taken from an Alaskan research vessel constructed in the 1940's.
Still in very good condition for its age, patina/surface dings and slight bend in one corner are signs of a long history.
The underside of this piece indicates with its grainy pattern and irregularities that it was made with sand casting, not investment.
