Salvage Lumber Warehouse

Welcome to your new headquarters for one-of-a-kind salvaged and reclaimed lumber!

We offer custom milling services, Built Green incentive packages for builders, and a wide range of re-milled products made from reclaimed old-growth Douglas fir beams.

What is the Salvage Lumber Warehouse?

Earthwise Salvage, founded in 1991, made the ambitious move to expand and create the Salvage Lumber Warehouse with the help of an EPA grant awarded by the City of Seattle. Our operation is the first of its kind in King County; a drop-off point and retail location for salvaged and re-milled lumber from residential deconstruction, demolition, and remodeling projects, as well as scrap wood from new construction. Our purpose is to reduce landfill waste while providing high quality and reliable building materials for the local economy. The Salvage Lumber Warehouse is ready to serve as a central resource for contractors, builders, wood workers, hobbyists, and all lumber-curious community members and provide access to clean, de-nailed lumber that’s ready for reuse in everything from new construction to furniture and DIY projects.

Custom Milling Services

We offer full-service custom milling, surfacing, and wood processing. Whether you are a contractor looking for a massive run of reclaimed old-growth flooring, or a DIYer needing a single mantel beam squared up, our team is equipped to handle projects of any scale. We specialize in processing our own massive inventory of historic, salvaged Pacific Northwest timber, but we are also happy to mill your customer-supplied wood!

Custom Milling Capabilities: Our facility features industrial-grade equipment, including a Woodmizer LT40wide, planer, jointer and brush sander allowing us to process everything from massive structural beams to precision architectural finishes.

  • Custom Millwork
  • S4S Surfacing
  • Architectural Brush
  • Sanding

Made to Order Products

3 1/8" and 3 1/4" T&G Fir Flooring

If you own a classic Seattle Craftsman, Bungalow, or Tudor built before 1940 (or you just love that look), this is the floor you have been looking for. Milled to match the tight grain of historic residential flooring, our Restoration T&G Flooring is designed to seamlessly blend the old with the new.

Nickel Gap Shiplap

Forget the flimsy, faux-weathered wall paneling found at big box stores. Our Architectural Nickel Gap Shiplap is thick, solid, old-growth wood designed to add serious texture and historical weight to your walls and ceilings.

Wide Plank T&G Fir Flooring

Wide plank flooring instantly anchors a room, providing a sense of scale, warmth, and grounded history. Milled from the largest structural beams in our inventory, our 5-inch Farmhouse Wide Plank showcases the sweeping grain patterns and rich color variations of old-growth

Beadboard Wall Paneling

Beadboard is a staple of classic American architecture, but it is rarely seen anymore in solid, old-growth timber. We revived this traditional profile, milling it directly from our reclaimed beams to offer a wall treatment that is as durable as it is beautiful.

Haul-Away Services

Have a deconstruction project or a large scale demolition job that will generate intact lumber as waste? We provide a haul-away service with our 30-yard portable containers. We’ll drop it off at your site, you fill it up and let us know when you’re done. We’ll bring it back to our warehouse to process the lumber. Email us today to arrange for haul-away services. Here’s a breakdown of what we accept:

  • Lumber reclaimed from building demolition or deconstruction projects.
  • Scrap lumber from new construction that is 6’ and longer.
  • Lumber from home projects (decks, fences, extra boards from your garage, etc)
  • Got lumber with nails in it? No problem!
  • Lumber must be in reusable condition (I.E. not completely trashed or rotting)

Built Green & LEED Framing

What Are Green Building Certifications?

Programs like Built Green Washington, LEED, and the Green Building Standard reward construction projects that actively reduce their environmental impact. To achieve these valuable certifications, developers must meet strict criteria for waste diversion and the use of recycled materials.

What We Offer

While our old-growth Douglas Fir is meant to be seen, our salvaged framing packages are meant to do the hidden work inside the walls.

When modern buildings are deconstructed, we salvage thousands of board feet of standard dimensional “white wood” (including, but not limited to modern 2x4s and 2x6s). We de-nail, sort, and bundle this material so it can be used as a drop-in replacement for off-the-shelf lumber.

Why It Matters for Your Project

By substituting virgin timber with our 100% locally salvaged framing lumber, you directly lower your project’s embodied carbon footprint and earn critical material credits toward your certification points.

Are you participating in a Green Building program? If you are a builder, architect, or developer aiming for certification, we can supply the volume you need to hit your material goals.
