This huge antique wooden and metal banded steamer trunk looks like itu2019s right out of a movie set. It was originally owned by the owner of Brocklindu2019s bridal and costume shop in Capital Hill. The trunk was used to pack costumes for traveling vaudeville shows in the early-mid 1900s.
The trunk is in fair condition for its age. It has a lot of rust on the metal banding and latches. The handles are broken off, and two of the four lid hinges are detached from the base of the trunk. The main latch is broken, but the side latches still connect. The inside of the trunk is lined with a pattern and has damage and staining from age.
This trunk could be cleaned up and restored to use as a coffee table or storage for tools or other non-delicate items. Or you could keep it as-is and use it as a decoration or prop for an old historic vibe.
