This is a wonderful antique camel back steamer trunk from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Camel back refers to the shape of the lid as it is rounded. This trunk gets its "Steamer" name from its use on steam boats. Anyone traveling by steam boat could take their luggage and place it inside a steamer trunk. This particular trunk has paper decorating the inside of it. the paper is not original to this trunk but was later added sometime in the 50s based on the design and style. One leather handle on the right side has been torn while the left side handle is intact.
