The stacking glass shade of the light forms a 3.125 inch cube, and each piece moves independently. The wire that suspends the light is adjustable, so you can determine how much you would like it to hang down. The fitter attached to the mounting plate by a cylindrical magnet, making for a pretty easy installation!
