Waste Makes Good Taste

GOOD TASTING VEGETABLES, THAT IS!

[metaslider id=390]

If you haven’t heard of TAGRO, here is a little history. Short for “Tacoma Gro”, TAGRO premium mix soil is made by the city of Tacoma from a blend of waste water byproducts, called biosolids, and other weed-free gardening components. Consumers in the greater Tacoma area have been using this environmentally friendly product in landscaping and vegetable gardens since 1991. The best thing about the mix is it’s FREE!

Now if you need something to plant in we have 2” x 6” material at .50 cents a linear foot to build raised beds. Earthwise always has a myriad of things like pots, boxes, jars, buckets and sinks to add soil and a green growing plant to. We even use orphaned toilet tanks and retired barbeques as vessels for growing. There is always something to reuse in the garden here.

For more information on getting some TAGRO for your garden go to www.tagro.com or call (253) 502-2150. Photos and article by Karen Carston, Earthwise Tacoma.
